The  Fourteenth One 1/18/24

If you read these please start from the very first day

What  a great day here at Swift Moves! Yesterday we had a giant party celebrating our 8th anniversary. It mainly consisted of me telling all of the office staff its our anniversary, them saying "oh that's nice" and then going back to work. Good times!

All the new guys we hired and trained last week seem to working our fairly well so that's always nice. Today we are starting to set up for a big home show we do every year. The guys are headed down there now with the tables, banners, free swag and all the stuff that comes up with doing a marketing event. Its more work than you might think to set that stuff up. We learned that the hard way the first show we did a few years ago, but now we have the routine down to a pretty efficient process. The show runs this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ill post more about it on FB and Instagram.

Moving Tip-When using a truck  make sure you get the ramp as close as possible to the front door at each location. You would think this would be standard but its not. Im not saying to park the truck on the street and walk everything down the driveway. The truck should be backed up on the driveway possibly at a slight angle so the ramp is two feet from the front door. Same thing with apartments. If possible block off a few spaces the night before so the driver can back up as close as he can to your front door. The average move probably takes 200 trips from the house to the truck (I'm totally guessing that) so if you park 50' closer to the door your saving 10,000 feet of walking, which is almost two miles. I've done many  moves where I literally counted steps from different entrances to see where the closest place to park was.

The artwork "What's up Doc?" I loved drawing this one. It was the first time I really used the entire page. I watched Bugs Bunny growing up and enjoyed this one. I didn't watch the episodes when they first aired but like 30 years into re-runs, I'm old but now that old quit yet-its coming though, I feel it everyday when I get out of bed. Nut once again this one would be a lot better if I drew it a few months later, the color should have been filled in better and lines more defined but Ill sound like a broken record for the next few months with these same complaints about myself.

Day 15 and my family still has not inquired about budding art career.
