Scott, Scott and Scott
The 147th One 5/29/24
I hope you enjoy these. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them the original in the frame just message me and I'll send it for free. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy my senseless ramblings. I made a commitment to write a blog post everyday for a year and 147 days in I'm starting to lose things to write about.
I was born in a small city called Temple, Texas in a hospital called Scott and White. The hospital was not small. Growing up I remember there were like 7,000 people who worked at the Temple location when Temple had a population of about 55,000 people. But the road I lived on was down the hill from this hospital. I mean directly down the street, I was the closest house to the hospital. The name of the street?-Scott Blvd. Then my elementary school was about three blocks from my house. The name of the school-Scott Elementary. So I was born in Scott and White hospital, went to a school named Scott and lived on a street named Scott Blvd. Who was this famous Scott? I don't really know.I believe he started the hospital but what's always been weird to me is no one ever talked about any of this stuff growing up. No local history whatsoever.
What's even weirder is I'm pretty sure this was not the original site of the hospital. It was originally on the other side of town for like 70 years then they moved it to where it is now and then named the road and the school.
Oh well. The hospital saved my life in 8th grade, the school taught me a lot and I had the best 1980’s youth growing up on that street.
The Artwork-This must have been one of those I was pressed for time. Its a panda bear. I think he is from some cartoon. But he looks cool. He's just chillin 'like “what do you want me to do, I'm just looking for some bamboo to eat.” He looks sad yet content.
Day 41 of the elliptical-Day 24 (out of 60) of 60 minutes straight on the elliptical. I did 40 minutes on setting 5 yesterday, then I did 20 minutes on setting six. The five setting is getting a little easier. I'm going to try to do a few more minutes on six today and then do the entire hour on six in a few days. Then I'll slowly move up to where I can do an entire hour on setting 9, which is the hardest setting and the goal.
