Happy Birthday Grandmother!!!
The 280th One Happy Birthday Grandmother!!! 11/10/24
I hope you enjoy these. For anyone who doesn't know, this is a year long project for myself where I write a blog entry a day. The artwork is something I did last year. Before 1/3/23 I had never drawn one thing in my entire life and then one day I decided to teach myself to draw and drew like 350 pictures last year. It's not just for me but also for Swift Moves in hopes of getting our rankings up on search engines. Does it work? Who knows. If anyone enjoys the artwork I post and wants me to send them an original, let me know and I'll send you a framed copy.
This is a little more personal than usual but I can't think of anything else to write but I would like to say Happy Birthday to my Grandmother. She passed away in 2017 (she was 100!!) but November 10th was her birthday. She was like a lot of Grandmothers in the fact she pretty much raised me. My Dad would drop me off at her house in the morning and she would take me to school. She would cook or go to McDonalds everyday to get me breakfast, then take me to school. She was always there if I needed a ride or if I needed clothes or anything like that. I went to Austin and Dallas a few times with her to see family. When I was 17 she made me live with her; I can only imagine how hard it was for her to put up with my teenage bu!!$!+t. She wasn't strict or anything and I didnt give her too much time. My Grandmother wqs one of the only pure souls I've known in my life. She was very religious but never once tried to really push it on me and didn't get mad if I didn't go to church. I never once heard one person say one negative thing about her. She never drank, smoked, gambled or never even went on a date (that I know of) after my Grandfather passed away when my Dad was seven years old. After he passed away in 1955 my Grandmother raised three boys on her own and she did a fine job. She gave me two pieces of advice which other people probably told me but for some reason I remember her telling me “Worry about yourself first, dont worry about everyone else” and she told me “get out of here (talking about Temple, Texas) and go to Florida”.
Before she passed I did get to tell her how much she meant to me and how much she helped me through life; I'm glad I got to do that.
Love and miss you Grandma!
The Artwork-”Everyone was Kung Fu fighting” because it’s Kung Fu Panda!
I love his stance where one foot is further forward than the other. If someone is new to drawing and time I can get some type of perspective it's always cool. That furrowed eyebrow and nose really show his emotion. I think the colors, although drab still came out true too the original. The little bit of shadowing on his belly was fun. I hope you enjoy!
Contest-This is an ongoing contest. It's a weird thing. On 6/27/24 we started with $10 then everyday I'm adding $1. The first person to call in or comment or message gets the money. Here's the kicker. You can either call in right now and get $10 (or whatever it happens to be this day) or wait till the next day when the money goes up. I think I have like 175 days left so the pot can get up to almost $200. It's free money, it's not a scam,
it's in the marketing budget. No employees or employee families are eligible. I hope you win! The total on 11/10/24 is $149.
Progress on my 100/100/100. Challenge. The concept is basically I will do 100 push ups, 100 sit ups and 100 minutes on the elliptical machine all in one sitting. I will start off doing 1/1/1 then going from there. But they always have to be the same number so I can't do 10 push ups and 12 sit ups and I can never go back-on once I'm up to 20, I can't do 19 the next day. As of last night the count was 70/70/70. I skipped yesterday. I have plenty of time to complete this challenge. Push ups are getting really hard. I have until 1/3/25 to complete this challenge. I figure if I just add one or two reps a day I will eventually get there. I'm not doing this challenge to “get big” or lose weight.
